Snow Advisories and Warnings

The National Weather Service out of Chicago originally issued a snow advisory for Dixon, Dekalb and McHenry County until noon tomorrow.
Now they have upgraded that status.
Dekalb has reported snow well over 4 inches. And has the night progresses...another 1-3 inches is expected to fall bringing the totals to the 7 inch range.
So the advisory has been upgraded to a heavy snow warning until tomorrow at noon.
As the Low pressure system coming up from the Mississippi Valley and Kentucky deepens into Ohio...the northwest winds across Centeral and Norhthern Illinios will pick up speed causing the snow to blow across the road.
Only drive it is imperative.
The band of snow will become more ogranized with the potential of 2 inches of snowfall per hour.

Freeport and Mount Carroll is still under a snow advisory until midnight tonite.
