Not the Main Target

With the center of this storm system spinning farther north than originally expected, it is taking the heaviest band of rain and pushing it into eastern Iowa and central Wisconsin. This is certainly welcome news for those dealing with flooding along area rivers. We won't be entirely dry around here, but at least the bullseye won't be on us. Scattered showers will affect the viewing area tonight through Saturday. An isolated thunderstorm could possibly be embedded in this activity, but it won't be anything widespread. The highest chance for us receiving heavy rain now appears to be Friday afternoon and evening. Any showers that linger into Saturday should be rather light in nature. With the bulk of the wet weather just to our west, our 48 hour rainfall totals should stay below 0.50". Rainfall amounts at that level are much more manageable for our rivers.

FYI, the storms that are currently along the Mississippi River will continue to move NNE and likely just clip our western counties. Pea size hail reports have come out of these modest thunderstorms. -ADAM
