Epic flooding continues to affect thousands of Midwesterners and it doesn't appear the water will recede quick enough. Areas hardest hit include Charles City, Iowa where the historic 1906 suspension bridge was washed away. The gauge that measures the river was completely washed away. Sandbagging continues in Cedar Rapids where the city is living up to its name. This flood may surpass the historic 1993 flood by feet! The Coralville Dam's integrity in Iowa City may be in jeopardy as the water is expected to exceed the level of the dam by midnight Monday night. The Rock River at Watertown, Wisconsin is higher than it has ever been. If the Rock River continues to rise homes along Lake Koshkonong in northern Rock County may be in jeopardy. Waukesha, Wisconsin's mayor has declared an emergency as many of the city's bridges are impassable. The Root River in Racine has also seen a record crest as residents of Lake Delton have no pieces to pick up. Watch this video courtesy WITI-TV in Milwaukee:
The floodwaters will flow south, but mainly toward the Mississippi River via the eastern Iowa rivers: Wapsipinicon, Cedar, and Iowa. The Wisconsin River will drain much of the Lake Delton floodwaters. Racine's problems will drain into the Fox River which will likely flood from McHenry to Elgin, Illinois. Floodwaters from Watertown and Lake Koshkonong will affect the Rock River from Janesville to Beloit and Rockton within a few days. We will post updates as the river rises.
If you have any property in low-lying areas be aware that river levels are expected to rise over the next few days even if no additional rain falls.

I have watched videos today on the weather channel of the flooding near the dells, and I just cannot believe how those rivers have literally swallowed up houses. It just shows how lucky we got down here that we just had the one torrential downpour last night and that was it. Eric, you and justin are the best there is with covering the severe weather and the chat is a great thing to have. keep up the good work.
I agree with tony, and have been relying heavily on this blog and your show to keep me abreast of the flooding I have been experiencing on the rock river south of Afton. Best weather news source around, great job, thank you. Now can you make it stop? :)
3rd. This is the first time ever that I am able to get up to the minute detailed reports. Great jobs guys! You should be proud. Doug
